This past week I watched a series of videos about Adobe Premier to gain a better understanding of the various tools ill be using when editing sports videos. This was very helpful and provided me with knowledge about the program that will be beneficial when I begin capturing sports footage. Most of the videos I watched were on Justin Odisho's Youtube channel. If you are looking for tips on how to improve your video editing skills I highly recommend checking out a couple of his videos.
I also researched the current landscape in the sports analytics world by reviewing the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference that was held about a month ago in Massachusetts. This was insightful as it provided me with an understanding of the innovation that has taken place over the past couple of years in the industry. The conference was headlined by people like Adam Silver, NBA commissioner, Daryl Morey, General Manager of the Houston Rockets, and Bob Myers, General Manager of the Golden State Warriors.
Over the weekend I completed flight school so that I can begin flying drones here at the lab. It was really cool to finally get out there fly the drones around for the first time. The weather was not ideal on Sunday as we experienced light rain and wind early in the day with the skies clearing up and winds increasing in the afternoon. I gain valuable experience flying in tough conditions and I
feel very comfortable flying drones for the lab moving forward.
