VideoMarker Tools using Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing

This week I began researching methods for using machine learning to process video on Microsoft's Azure cloud computing platform. Microsoft's Computer Vision API allows users to upload photos to a cloud-based data-hosting service, processing them using a proprietary neural net which is capable of recognizing objects, facial expressions, color schemes, and more, before returning relevant information in JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) format. I aim to produce a program capable of grabbing video stills from a live feed, processing them, and returning information regarding native plant and animal species to aid in conservation and restoration efforts in the Chesapeake Bay via the LASR@ AACC Bonefish SAV.
